Ezekiel Honig, owner of Anticipate Recordings, has opened a kickstarter to fund the publishing of a “book on sound”. Details can be found below, with additional information on the Kickstarter page.
I’m pleased to let you know that I just launched a Kickstarter page for a book I wrote on sound – listening to it, recording it, looking for the moments that resonate for you, editing, arranging, completing a piece… Though sound production is at the core, the book is more about ideas and how to use them than technical tips. It focuses on finding the aspects of daily life that fit into a sonic interpretation, the concrete reality of them, and how they become organized as music.
While digital publishing is fairly straightforward these days, I feel strongly about this book being a physical object, and the illustrations inside it, and design of it, (done, respectively, by my friends Asli Senel Smith and Giles Dickerson) are crucial pieces of the puzzle. That being said, I’m raising funds to print the book and ship it to you. There is plenty of information, and writing samples, on the Kickstarter page, as well as the list of rewards for different levels of contribution, which include, in addition to the book, music, sound production tutoring, giclee prints of illustrations from the book, and a track made for you based on your source instructions.
Please reach out if you have any questions. I appreciate any support you can offer.
Take care,
Ezekiel
