Nonesuch records is celebrating 40 years of Kronos Quartet with two releases: The Explorer Series collects five releases from five different countries — Pieces of Africa, Night Prayers, Caravan, Nuevo, and Floodplain — and would be a fabulous introduction for new listeners. Returning fans will be delighted by A Thousand Thoughts, which contains ten previously unreleased tracks (fifteen tracks in total comprising performers and composers from fourteen different countries).
